Privacy
Blipbar runs on your Mac and has no account, and it doesn't collect analytics. It talks to Blipbar's own servers only to check for updates, and to send feedback when you press Send.
Updates
Once a day, Blipbar asks updates.blipbar.app whether there's a new version. The request names the version you have and, like any web request, comes from your IP address. You can turn this off with Check automatically, in the About pane of Settings.
Feedback
Send Feedback, in the notch's right-click menu, sends what you write and your email if you give one. It goes to Blipbar's developer, who keeps each report in an issue tracker (Linear).
With Include details on, it also sends the app and macOS versions, the Mac's model, what's placed, which extensions are on, Blipbar's log from the last half hour, and a crash report from the past week if there is one. You can read all of it before you send, and file paths are shortened so your account name isn't in them.
Services you connect
When you add something like GitHub or Stripe, Blipbar talks to that service straight from your Mac, using the key or sign-in you gave it. Nothing goes through a Blipbar server. Keys and sign-ins are kept in the Mac's Keychain.

What stays on your Mac
Your layout and settings are saved in ~/Library/Application Support/Blipbar and the app's preferences. Now Playing keeps recent album covers there too.
Clipboard History and the Shelf are kept in memory, so they're gone when Blipbar quits. Clipboard History skips anything an app marks as a password or as temporary.
Agents
Connecting Claude Code, Codex or Cursor adds a hook to that tool's settings file after backing the file up, and disconnecting removes it. The hook tells Blipbar what the agent is doing over an address only your Mac can reach.
Extensions you install
Before you install an extension, Blipbar shows which websites it can reach and what else it can do on your Mac. A blip from an extension or a webhook can also include a picture from any website, which Blipbar downloads to show it. An extension is still code that runs on the Mac, so install extensions from people you trust.
Permissions
Blipbar asks for a permission only when you press a button or turn on an option that needs it.

Clipboard History can read copies only once you set Blipbar to Always Allow pasting in Privacy & Security, and Blipbar never asks for that itself.
This website
blipbar.app has no cookies or analytics. When you press Download, it tells Blipbar's developer that someone downloaded it, with what your browser's request says: the city and network Cloudflare places your connection in, your browser and Mac, your language, and which button you pressed and the site that sent you. Your IP address isn't passed on.
